About the Event
Pre-Work: A 2-hour self-paced online module that participants complete before the live session. This segment covers foundational topics such as an overview of mental health first aid, understanding mental health and mental disorders, the role of the mental health first aider, and recognizing signs and symptoms of mental health challenges.
Live Virtual Session: Following the pre-work, there's a 6-hour instructor-led virtual session. This part delves deeper into applying the MHFA action plan (ALGEE), discussing strategies for assisting individuals in both crisis and non-crisis situations, and emphasizing self-care for first aiders.
